Image Management

ProStock's image catalogue is complete - limited in size only by the size of your hard drive(s).

You may use ProStock's Smart ID or your own identification system. ProStock allows set-based numbering or simple sequential numbering. The image database holds information about category, photographer, caption, location, dupes, catalogs, models, and digital files. ProStock keeps up to five digital file pointers for each image.

A complete image sales history is available from the image screen, as well as an instant view of rights and restrictions.

ProStock prints image ID labels, caption labels, and barcode labels. Labels may be 35mm or large format, and can be custom-designed by you!

ProStock keeps track of originals and dupes, locations, usages, and restrictions. A library of cross-reference keywords can be developed for search purposes. Finally, ProStock catalogues digitized images as part of the data base!

When an image is selected for a Delivery Memo, ProStock automatically checks for usage restrictions. If such a restriction exists, ProStock provides both a visual and an audio warning.

Because the ProStock Image ID can be configured as a set-based system, images that are alike can be grouped together. Usage restrictions that are applied to any one member of the set automatically apply to all members. Usages and restrictions can be viewed from the Image screen as well.

On the Image Viewing Screen, you may view, enlarge, print, transmit, and adjust pictures. You may also convert pictures from one format to another. ProStock supports TIFF, Targa, Windows BMP, ZSoft PCX, Kodak's PhotoCD, and JPEG formats. Images may be stored in thumbnail and reproduction qualities. ProStock also comes with a PhotoCD browser and a batch image importer.

Rapid search and retrieval is one of the cornerstones of a sophisticated stock management program. With ProStock, you can search for images by category, by any element in the caption, by photographer, or by a self-generated library of cross-referenced keywords. A number of filters can be applied to keyword searches.

Prostock can automatically search synonyms, and searches may be multi-level (searching "Snake OR Cobra AND Desert" finds images of a snake in the desert, but not a snake anywhere else). Keywords can be hierarchical to save time when keywording (adding the keyword "Cat" can automatically add "Mammal" and "Animal"). Picture viewing is built into the search procedure--images may be previewed on screen prior to selecting!
